The necessary conditions to form a laser

1. Stimulated radiation is the first and necessary condition for laser generation, but it is not sufficient.

2. To form a laser, the working material must have a metastable energy level. This is the second condition for producing a laser.

3. At room temperature, absorption exceeds emission. Select the appropriate material, so that it has more electrons on the sub-energy level than on the lower energy level. That can form the inversion of particle number, so that the excited radiation is bigger than absorption. This is the third condition for producing a laser.

4. The photons produced at the beginning of the laser are generated by spontaneous emission, with random frequency and direction. To keep the frequencies simple and the directions concentrated, an oscillating chamber is necessary. This is the fourth condition for producing a laser.

5. Only when the number of photons produced in a single oscillation of photons in the cavity is much more than the number of photons lost, can the amplification effect be achieved, which is the fifth condition for laser generation.
