This U.S. Navy Supplier, Wins Big Order For Laser Additive Manufacturing Equipment!

Recently, AML3D, an Australian leader in additive manufacturing, announced that it has secured an order for two additional ARCEMY 2600 small additive manufacturing machines from Laser Welding Solutions (LWS).
This order follows LWS's initial order in September 2023 and the successful commissioning and operation of the ARCEMY 2600 system.
LWS is described as a key supplier to the U.S. Navy, and this additional purchase is intended to accelerate the U.S. Navy Submarine Industrial Base's qualification program for ARCEMY nickel-aluminum-bronze components.
The two ARCEMY 2600 systems are on a 12-month lease, with LWS having the option to purchase the systems outright at any time during the lease term. The entire lease is valued at approximately AUD$700,000 (US$460,000) and includes a 12-month software license and technical support.
To meet LWS's accelerated demand for the U.S. Navy's NAB qualification program, AML3D will quickly airlift the ARCEMY 2600 systems from its facility in Adelaide, South Australia, to LWS's base in Houston, Texas, USA. The systems are expected to be operational within 8-10 weeks.
AML3D's scale-up strategy in the US has yielded significant results, as amply demonstrated by this second, larger LWS order. This strategy not only encompasses collaboration with suppliers to the U.S. Navy's submarine industrial base, but also successfully embeds the ARCEMY system. As a global leader in additive manufacturing, the US has undoubtedly become the most important growth market for AML3D. In order to better serve U.S. customers and gain more business, the company is actively planning to set up its U.S. headquarters, manufacturing center, and sales team in Ohio to strengthen its presence and influence in the U.S. market.
Sean Ebert, CEO of AML3D, commented positively on the partnership, "We are delighted to receive these two new orders for additional ARCEMY systems, which not only deepens our relationship with LWS, but also reaffirms the importance of our advanced manufacturing technology to the U.S. defense sector.AML3D's ARCEMY systems ability to produce higher-quality components faster and more material-efficiently than traditional manufacturing is perfectly suited to the needs of the U.S. Navy and its broader submarine industrial base supply chain."
