This DPSS Laser Developer Acquired, Joins Forces To Expand Customized Optoelectronic Solutions

AMS Technologies, a provider of lasers, optics, lighting, power technology and thermal management systems, recently announced that it has successfully acquired neoLASE, a developer of high-brightness diode-pumped solid-state (DPSS) lasers.
Customized optoelectronic solutions for customers
The acquisition will help increase AMS Technologies' high-power laser engineering capabilities by bringing to market "tailored" high-power laser systems specifically designed for customers. These laser systems are capable of delivering selectable pulse durations, repetition rates and output powers while ensuring superior beam quality.
neoLASE, which was spun off from the Laser Development Division of Laser Zentrum Hannover in 2007, offers master oscillator power amplifier systems with pulse durations ranging from nanoseconds to femtoseconds.
Upon completion of the deal, Maik Frede, founder and managing director of neoLASE, will join AMS Technologies as vice president of engineering. He commented, "Our mission is not just to provide products. Our goal is to develop lasting partnerships and establish ourselves as the leading source for specialized, customizable photonic solutions."
"At AMS Technologies, we are more than just a laser supplier; we are or are 'photonics magicians' dedicated to tailoring precise solutions to each customer's specific needs," AMS Technologies CEO Jan Meise, CEO of AMS Technologies, said, "When your laser runs out of power, neoLASE is highly qualified and capable of enhancing it. The modular concept of the amplifier suite enables a wide range of different laser parameters and therefore solves many different industrial, medical and scientific applications".
Advancing laser innovation and technology together
The synergy between AMS Technologies and neoLASE is deeply rooted in a shared passion for innovation and technological expertise. ams technologies has extensive knowledge in the laser field with a dedicated design center for pulsed DPSS lasers and offers a broad product portfolio through manufacturing partners in the distribution business.
neoLASE's Hanover-based photonics cluster has longstanding expertise in DPSS laser amplification for many different seeds and offers MOPA systems from nanometer to femtosecond pulse durations. neoLASE's solid-state lasers are designed for 1064/1030/1940 and 2050 nm applications, with higher harmonics and a compact and reliable system design.
