Coherent Introduces A Diode Laser Bar For The Hair Removal Industry

Coherent, the world's leading manufacturer of high-power diode lasers, recently launched a diode laser bar for the hair removal industry.
This innovative 808nm bar utilizes a double-junction configuration with an output power of 200W and an input current of only 100A, thereby doubling the efficiency of the previous single-junction bar. The Coherent 808nm diode laser bar enables faster, safer and more effective hair removal treatments while significantly reducing discomfort.
The global laser hair removal market has grown into a multi-billion dollar industry with a growing demand for more efficient and comfortable treatment options. Coherent's new 200W laser bar successfully meets this challenge by providing higher power output, shorter pulse widths and higher repetition rates.
Notably, the new diode laser is perfectly compatible with power supplies in existing systems, making the upgrade process simple and efficient. Systems that were originally based on a 100W 808 nanorod design can now be easily upgraded to 200W performance without the need to replace power supplies and electronics, reducing the costs and potential safety risks associated with high-current systems.

The high power and low current characteristics of the 808 nanorods furthermore give them the potential for a wider range of applications, such as in solid-state pumping, high-energy lasers and laser fusion research, which show great promise.
