Changchun Institute Of Optical Mechanics, Chinese Academy Of Sciences, Led The Drafting Of The Two LiDAR Group Standards Released For Implementation

Recently, Changchun Institute of Optical Precision Machinery and Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CIPM) has taken the lead in drafting two group standards, "Technical Requirements and Testing Methods of Laser Emitters for Vehicle Mounted LIDAR" and "Technical Requirements and Testing Methods of Vehicle Mounted Flashing Solid-State LIDAR", which have been approved by China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) for release.
Semiconductor laser transmitter has many advantages such as small size, light weight, high efficiency, long life, low cost, etc., and has become an ideal light source in the field of LIDAR. The performance of semiconductor laser transmitter directly determines the detection distance, resolution, signal-to-noise ratio, power consumption and other indexes of LIDAR system. For the needs of automotive-grade automated driving, standardized testing and calibration of laser emitters for LIDAR has become an urgent issue in the industry.
Flash-type solid-state LiDAR is different from mechanical LiDAR, MEMS LiDAR, its all-solid-state design has better stability, and because it does not need to adjust the optical path, more conducive to mass production. However, there is no unified standard to judge the practicality, efficiency and safety of flash-type solid-state LiDAR, which restricts the development of flash-type solid-state LiDAR in the industry.
The high-power semiconductor laser and application team of Changchun Institute of Optical Precision Machinery and Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, led by academician Wang Lijun, researcher Qin Li, associate researcher Liang Lei, associate researcher Wang Yubing, assistant researcher Song Yue, organized the domestic well-known LiDAR enterprises, self-driving car companies, laser light source manufacturers, universities and research institutes to jointly draft and publish the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers group standard T CAAMTB 181-2023 Technical Requirements and Testing Methods of Laser Transmitter for Vehicle-mounted LIDAR and T/CAAMTB 180-2023 Technical Requirements and Testing Methods of Vehicle-mounted Flash-type Solid-State LIDAR.
Technical Requirements and Testing Methods for Laser Emitters for Vehicle Mounted Lidar" puts forward specifications for the definition, classification, technical requirements, test specifications, test methods, inspection rules and other requirements for semiconductor laser emitters for vehicle mounted Lidar, which can provide a reference basis for the whole process of the development, production, delivery and implementation of testing of related modules and components such as semiconductor laser emitters for TOF pulsed Lidar and FMCW Lidar. Provide reference basis. It is conducive to perfecting the relevant standard certification and accreditation system, filling the blank of the testing method of laser transmitter for LIDAR in China, leading the industry's technical development level, and promoting the development of the core technology of LIDAR and the technological progress of laser transmitter research and development enterprises.
The Technical Requirements and Testing Methods for Vehicle-mounted Flash-type Solid-State Laser Radar puts forward standardized requirements for the terminology and definitions, performance testing and inspection rules of vehicle-mounted flash-type solid-state laser radar, which can provide a reference basis for the whole process of vehicle-mounted flash-type solid-state laser radar's research and development, production, delivery and implementation of the test. This standard fills the blank of domestic flash LIDAR testing, provides guidance and reference for testing and research of enterprises, research institutes, testing and certification organizations, and promotes the rapid development of the industry.
