Yena Launches New Lasers And Showcases A Variety Of Innovative Optical Solutions

German optoelectronics giant Jenner (Jenoptik) has announced that it will showcase its own outstanding high-performance optical components and systems at Photonics West, the world's largest optoelectronics trade show, which will be held in San Francisco, USA next week.
These products have been carefully designed to fit well with current trends in medical, laser, optoelectronics, semiconductor equipment, data transmission and imaging technologies.
New Single Bar Diode Lasers
YANA has introduced a new open heatsink diode laser package "LS" for optical pumping of next generation solid state lasers. The package achieves a significant increase in optical output power levels compared to the industry standard CS.
Despite its slightly different form factor from the CS, the LS laser is unique in its own way: its open heat sink design with double-sided cooling optimizes the conductive cooling of the laser bar. This enables the LS laser to further demonstrate excellent performance with output powers in excess of 150 W @ 9xx nm, making it particularly suitable for advanced applications in pump or direct diode lasers (DDLs).
Yehner's LS kits are similar in form factor to the CS kits and can be used to upgrade existing (pump) components based on the CS kits to achieve breakthrough increases in optical pumping power.
To further support future image-guided surgical procedures and digital microscope-based diagnostic imaging applications, Yehner has developed an innovative solid-state gamut-tunable (white) light source that enables high-brightness illumination at virtually any chromaticity setting.
The light source adjusts the color gamut by mixing three or more independent color channels, enabling imaging in a wide range of spectral illumination conditions, thus enhancing visual discrimination for surgeons and optimizing future artificial intelligence-based image processing algorithms. For minimally invasive endoscopic illumination, such as applications in ophthalmic surgery, the high beam quality of this white light source ensures a size range of over 27G.
Optoelectronic Solutions for Wafer-Level PIC Testing
With the introduction of the Optoelectronic UFO Detector® Card, Yana offers wafer fabricators and wafer test equipment suppliers a revolutionary solution designed to save time and increase the efficiency of testing electronic and photonic assemblies.
The detector card utilizes an innovative optical test concept that enables simultaneous testing of electronic and photonic functions at the wafer level, especially in high-volume production environments. It is unique in that it eliminates the need for active alignment, making the test process easier.
Using advanced cantilever and vertical pin technology, each UFO Probe® card can be customized to meet specific customer needs and wafer layouts. It covers a wide range of optical wavelengths (from 1260 nm to 1625 nm) for telecom and datacom applications and supports polarization hold function for single or all optical channels.
By integrating vertical pin technology, Yena has successfully met the growing market demand, especially in the field of co-packaged optics. This ensures that the UFO Probe® card has outstanding economic utility in volume production and automated test environments.
