Xi'an Institute Of Optics And Precision Machinery (XIPM) Makes Progress in Ultrafast Fractional-amplitude Imaging

It is reported that Xi'an Institute of Optics and Precision Machinery has made progress in the field of ultrafast fractional imaging.

The Fractional Imaging Team of the Key Laboratory of Ultrafast Diagnostic Technology, Xi'an Institute of Optics and Precision Machinery (XIPM), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), has made an important breakthrough in the field of picosecond fractional imaging. The time-amplified fractional camera responsible for by Yongsheng Gou, associate researcher of Xi'an Institute of Optics and Precision Machinery, completed laser targeting experiments on the Shenguang-III prototype device of the Laser Fusion Research Center of the Chinese Academy of Engineering Physics, and obtained a laser implosion image with a temporal resolution of better than 10 ps for the first time in China, which laid a foundation for the fine-grained measurements of the laser fusion process.
The team continues to focus on ultrafast amplitude imaging technology, after ten years to overcome the broad beam electron optical modulation, electron pulse time amplification and broad spectrum electron focusing and other key technologies, developed a time amplification amplitude camera. This research has improved the temporal resolution limit of the AMS camera from 60 ps to 5 ps, and the spatial resolution is better than 20 lp/mm. This is the highest temporal resolution AMS camera that has been realized for engineering application in China, which is of great significance to promote the development of AMS imaging technology and ultrafast diagnostic technology.
