On May 29, 2023, our stereo vision-based laser processing and inspection equipment project for Southwest Jiaotong University has completed production. The equipment is a fully enclosed customized system, using the most advanced 20W 355nm UV nanosecond laser. The equipment is independently developed and produced by MIRAGE, which is the first ultraviolet laser processing system of more than one million in China.

This equipment mainly uses extreme ultraviolet nanosecond laser to achieve high precision manufacturing of complex structured surface of high specific gravity tungsten alloy (tungsten alloy armor piercing bullet). The main use of structured light three-dimensional reconstruction technology, through the projection of encoded stripes to the surface of the imaged object, the use of industrial cameras to record the image of the highly modulated deformation stripes of the imaged object, and then through the computer digital modulation of the three-dimensional shape of the object. In a certain range, high precision contactless measurement can be achieved. At the same time, through the extreme ultraviolet nanosecond laser processing of difficult-to-machine materials, with the structured light projector and industrial surface array camera for the object surface inspection of the processing process.

The laser processing inspection equipment based on stereo vision took two and a half months from design and development to production and shipment, and was finally completed and sent to the laboratory of the School of Mechanical Engineering of Southwest Jiaotong University today. Engineers are expected to visit the customer site this Friday to provide on-site installation and technical guidance training services for the teachers.
