The First National Standard Of Laser Cleaning Started In Wuhan

On April 20, “Green manufacturing-Laser surface cleaning technical specifications" and laser cleaning technology's the first national standard set-up meeting will be held in Wuhan. Many specialists at the meeting praise the magic laser that can give industrial heavy equipment “plastic surgery”.

The technology, which began with high technology in Wuhan, has been used in major production projects such aslaunch towers and Fuxing EMU welding lines, and the first national standard for laser cleaning will be born in Wuhan by the end of next year.

High-tech in cleaning surfaces for industrial heavy equipment

"Aerospace aircraft,structures before painting, also need to do cleaning treatment ." Wang Xichang, a group-level expert and researcher at the Institute of Integrated Technology in the Aviation Industry, introduced that laser cleaning is very good in the face of different application scenarios with different materials and different requirements and functions. And the cleaning of aero-engine blades, weapons equipment, electronic wiring joint cleaning, can also use laser cleaning.

Wang Chunming, professor of materials science and engineering at Huazhong University of Science and Technology, who has been engaged in laser cleaning technology research and development and equipment manufacturing for many years, revealed that the welding production line of Fuxing EMU and the alloy welding cleaning of long March carrierhave all been equipped with laser cleaning machines from Wuhan. Data show that only domestic laser cleaning market potential demand more than 60 billion, global demand in more than 100 billion.

It is understood that the secret of this cosmetic-grade high-tech lies in the high-energy laser beam irradiation of the workpiece surface, so that the surface of dirt, rust or coating instant evaporation or stripping, high-speed and effective removal of clean object surface attachment or surface coating, so as to achieve a clean process.

Industry experts agree that it is a "green" cleaning process, the waste is solid powder, small volume, easy to store, basically no pollution to the environment. The technology has a great application prospect in aircraft structure, rail and train components, ship surface parts cleaning before welding and so on.

The technology began in Wuhan and the national standard was set up next year

Wang Jun, deputy general manager of Wuhan Xiangming Laser Technology Co., Ltd., said the company is located in Guanggu Wuhan Future Science and Technology City. Relying on the scientific research strength of Huazhong University of Science and Technology and more than 10 years of technology accumulation, it has obtained more than 30 independent intellectual property patents and self-developed laser cleaning equipment. Shipment volume remains nearly 100% a year, and the cost can be reduced to an affordable level in ordinary industrial workshops in 3-5 years. However, in order to realize the leading position of domestic laser cleaning equipment, long-term reliability verification is needed, which must be formulated quickly.

It is reported that the national standard committee has officially issued a plan, led by the China Institute of Aeronautical Integrated Technology, Wuhan Xiangming Laser Technology Co., Ltd. to draft the "Green Manufacturing Laser Surface cleaning Technical Specification ", which is expected to be completed next year.

At present, there are more than 200 laser enterprises in Guanggu, and the annual output value of laser industry has reached tens of billions of yuan, which has formed a complete industrial chain and is one of the largest laser equipment manufacturing bases in China.

Six years ago, Raycus led the drafting of China's first fiber laser industry standards, and last year, the international standard "Industrial fiber laser parameter requirements and test methods ", which was led by Chinese laser, was passed. This is the first international standard of laser products in China.
