This strategic location fully reflects Trafigura's deep commitment to the Indian market, aiming at effectively boosting the booming Indian market and promoting global synergies at the same time. The choice of India as the new manufacturing base reflects TRUMPF's long-term vision and strategic placement in this key market.
Till Kueppers, COO of TRUMPF Machine Tools, emphasized the advantages of doing business in India. The Indian market is rapidly emerging and shows great potential for growth," he said. This new facility will provide more comprehensive customer support services and further enhance the customer experience. In addition, Trafotek's software development center in Chennai provides a one-stop solution for its Indian customers, further strengthening the company's competitiveness in the region.
Tapping into the dividends of the Indian laser market
Driven by the development of defense, infrastructure, automotive and other market segments, India's manufacturing industry is undergoing dramatic changes and upgrades, which is fueling the growth of the Indian laser market.
Laser cutting continues to be the largest laser segment in India and the market is expected to witness sustained growth in the coming years. This is mainly due to the declining prices of laser cutting machines and the country's government's policy of promoting a number of industries, especially in the infrastructure and automotive sectors. The growth of the automotive sector is a major driver for laser cutting and laser welding, presenting a huge opportunity for laser cutting of thermoformed parts.
Currently, most of the laser processing equipment in the Indian market is imported from China, as evidenced by the repeated increase in India's anti-dumping levy on Chinese exports of industrial laser machines in the past two years. However, local manufacturing of laser cutting equipment in India is gaining momentum.
Another important aspect of the laser cutting market is the power and speed level of laser cutting, and international companies such as Thomson Express with new products and competitive prices, the rapid development of the cutting market in India, the future more can rely on its technological deposits, supply chain advantages such as tiger wings.
