Raycus Sets New World Record With Domestic 10kW-Class Fiber Laser, Breaking Foreign Monopoly in High-End Tech

In the field of high-end industrial manufacturing, 10kW-class fiber lasers are regarded as the core light sources for "heavy-duty national equipment." For a long time, achieving ultra-high power output in the 10kW range while maintaining exceptional beam quality (i.e., near-fundamental mode) has been a common challenge for the global laser industry. Foreign enterprises previously held a monopoly in this sector, posing a "choke point" risk to domestic high-end manufacturing.

 

To overcome this technological barrier, the R&D team at Raycus Laser conducted in-depth foundational innovations. The newly developed 10.1kW near-fundamental-mode fiber laser achieves historic leaps across all core performance metrics. Its beam quality factor (M²) is as low as 1.13 (with 1 being the ideal fundamental mode). This means that while delivering extreme energy output, the laser beam remains exceptionally pure and possesses superior focusing capabilities.

 

Benefiting from the dual advantages of "high power + high beam quality," this laser demonstrates outstanding performance in practical applications. In the aerospace sector, it meets the stringent requirements for precision 3D printing of hard-to-machine materials like titanium alloys, significantly improving the forming accuracy and mechanical properties of components. In the automotive and new energy sectors, the equipment excels at high-strength welding of car bodies and precision welding of power batteries, effectively resolving common issues such as spatter and porosity in traditional deep-penetration welding processes.

 

The successful launch of this 10kW-class fiber laser marks a critical milestone for China's high-end industrial laser sector, transitioning from "following" to "leading." It not only substantially enhances the core competitiveness of domestic laser equipment but also provides strong foundational technological support for the transformation and upgrading of China's high-end equipment manufacturing industry.
