Recently, Panasonic has launched its latest laser marking technology products, the LP-ZV series, which provide high precision and high efficiency laser marking.
Panasonic claims that the LP-ZV series sets a new standard for operation that delivers superior speed and accuracy for a variety of applications - such as marking text, graphics, barcodes and 2D codes.
The company says the new version of the device meets the complex marking requirements of metal and resin materials, offering a solution that combines high-speed performance with a large marking field and 3D marking options.
Enabling fine marking
Panasonic says the laser achieves this by using short pulses of 1 nanosecond (ns) to minimize thermal effects, enabling clear marking of small characters as small as 0.15 mm. Shallow engraving produces easily visible white marks and code sections with sharp edges.
Users can benefit from fast and deep marking thanks to the system's 50W high power output, allowing high speed deep engraving and black marking on metal workpieces. This capability ensures fast and accurate marking on precision metal parts such as bearings and tools.
The LP-ZV series is well known for its 3D marking options and generous marking field. Equipped with 3D capability, it is highly matched to mark concave or convex surfaces within 50mm (±25mm).
The system offers a large marking area of up to 330mm x 330mm, extending its usability in a wide range of products. Integrated Z-axis control ensures consistent marking quality on complex shapes anywhere in the marking field and on workpieces of different heights.
According to Panasonic, the marking field remains stable, and this coupled with the wide range can significantly reduce setup, installation and design costs while delivering consistent results.
Moving towards high connectivity, low carbon
Panasonic also confirms that the LP-ZV laser marker will use the updated Laser Marker NAVI Intelligent Software, which enhances the user experience by providing a user-friendly interface and previewing the mark on the material using data from the intelligent software and built-in camera.
By utilizing Ethernet/IP or Profinet, the LP-ZV series seamlessly integrates into the production line to provide beneficial connectivity. With its network unit, the LP-ZV integrates perfectly into customers' production lines via Ethernet/IP or Profinet.
In line with Panasonic's commitment to sustainability, the LP-ZV also focuses on energy efficiency, reducing energy consumption and CO2 emissions by up to 50% compared to other systems.
