Lumentum Appoints Senior Vice President And Legal Counsel!

Lumentum Holdings, a developer of optical and photonic products, recently announced the appointment of Jae Kim as Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary.
Moving forward, Jae Kim will be responsible for leading Lumentum's legal department, including corporate affairs, commercial transactions, trade compliance and intellectual property. He will also be responsible for facilities, real estate and security.
Biographical Background
Jae Kim has more than 25 years of corporate law experience and previously served as chief administrative officer and legal officer of GlobalLogic, a Hitachi Group company. In this role, he oversaw all corporate legal matters, as well as governance, enterprise risk management and insurance, compliance, facilities and employee services. Prior to joining GlobalLogic, he was Senior Vice President, General Counsel of Rambus, Inc. where he was responsible for all legal matters, including litigation, intellectual property development, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance and compliance.
Earlier in his career, Kim held senior legal positions at Altran/Aricent and Electronics for Imaging, Inc. He also served as an associate at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich and Rosati, a leading Silicon Valley law firm, and as an attorney at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
Jae Kim received his B.A. in Economics from Boston University and his LL.B. from American University Washington College of Law. He is a member of the California and New York State Bars.
High-Level Evaluation
And stepping down from that role will be Judy Hamel, who is retiring from Lumentum, where she has served as Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary since 2015, and was Senior Corporate Counsel for Lumentum's parent company, JDSU (since 2012).

Currently, Lumentum has continued its success in the 400G ZR module business. In the second quarter of fiscal year 2024, sales in this segment even grew more than 30 percent sequentially. In addition, Lumentum has received positive customer feedback on its 800G ZR platform and will be rolling out customer samples this year.
Given the surge in bandwidth demand in AI data centers and the company's strong attraction to new transceiver opportunities, Lumentum is strategically expanding its leading transceiver manufacturing capabilities and investing in state-of-the-art production lines at its manufacturing facility in Thailand, where it expects to ramp up production capacity this summer, in hopes of leading the first wave of 1.6T transceivers for multiple customers in Thailand.
