Laser Major Leukos Acquired

On January 6, 2025, Exail acquired laser business Leukos, which specializes in advanced laser sources for metrology, spectroscopy and imaging applications. Financial terms of the acquisition have not been disclosed, and Leukos will operate as a subsidiary of Exail, retaining its product portfolio and branding.

The acquisition combines Leukos' advanced technologies, including pulsed microlasers, supercontinuum sources and ultrafast fiber lasers, with Exail's expertise in specialty fibers, modulation, micro-optical components and quantum systems. The merger also expands Exail's product offerings and solutions to address new markets including biophotonics and microelectronics.
Exail is understood to be a high-tech industrial company specializing in robotics, maritime, navigation,and photonics. Founded in 2022, the company was formed by the merger of ECA Group and iXblue, following Group Gorgé's acquisition of iXblue. the company signed contracts with Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory last year.
