Laser cleaning machine for rust removal is a type of laser cleaning and is an effective process for cleaning metal parts. Using a fiber optic laser cleaning system, rust and other contaminants can be removed quickly and thoroughly without damaging the metal underneath.
Laser rust remover is a handheld laser cleaning machine consisting of a fiber laser generator, a laser rust removal gun, and a laser cleaning system that uses a pulsed laser or CW (continuous wave) laser to irradiate the metal surface. The coating can instantly absorb the energy of the focused laser, causing the rust, coating or oil on the surface to instantly peel off or evaporate, effectively removing the coating attached to the metal at high speed.
Laser rust remover can solve problems that cannot be solved by traditional rust removal methods. The laser descaling machine can perform descaling operations even if the metal part has an abnormal shape. In short, rust, oil, paint or oxides can be removed from the surface wherever the laser shines.
Laser descaling is a great alternative to manual and chemical cleaning methods because descaling is more precise and less costly to repeat. It is also a great way to reduce the environmental impact. Fiber laser cleaning for rust removal is very safe and more environmentally friendly.
Why use laser cleaning machine for rust removal?
1. Get rid of consumables and go green
As a green technology, fiber laser cleaning replaces the use of consumables or chemicals to remove rust. It is the only solution that complies with environmental regulations. Laser cleaning does create a small amount of dust in the air. However, it can be vacuumed immediately with a vacuum system.
2. Eliminate manual labor
It is inefficient to spend a lot of manual labor to clean each part. It is expensive and can be performed more efficiently using robots. Eliminate manual labor with laser cleaning, a technology that can easily be fully or semi-automated.
3. Reduced maintenance
Everyone who uses a sandblaster faces the same problem: their machine breaks down frequently. Whether it's the presence of sand, the condition of the nozzles or replacement, sandblasters require regular monitoring and maintenance. Fiber laser cleaning is a non-contact method that consistently removes rust while significantly reducing maintenance costs.
4. Create a safe workplace
When integrated with dust removal systems and Class 1 laser safety enclosures, lasers in manufacturing environments are extremely safe. With these in place, operators near laser cleaning systems do not need personal protective equipment to protect their breath, hearing or body. In addition, they are no longer handling hazardous materials.
Benefits of using a laser descaling machine
1. Straight gun design. Easy to handle and compound ergonomics. 2.
2. Lightweight design. Weight less than 1KG, more suitable for long time handheld use. 3.
3. Dustproof and sealed design. Independent design of the optical path, sealed and dustproof. 4.
4. Removable suction mouth. Removable suction port, height and angle adjustable.
The handheld laser descaling gun is designed to handle a variety of objects and angles. Standard cable length 10m, but longer cables are available.
What to look for in metal descaling?
All materials have properties that define how they react under certain conditions. For metal descaling, attention needs to be paid to the ablation threshold.
The laser parameters can be set so that the intensity of the laser beam is just above the ablation threshold for rust, but below the intensity of the metal being cleaned. If the laser beam strikes the metal surface at an intensity below its ablation threshold, the energy of the laser beam is dispersed as heat after the rust is removed.
The result is a clean surface where the rust and dirt layers evaporate without permanently affecting the substrate.
The speed of rust removal depends on the thickness of the rust layer and the laser power. Our high power system removes typical light rust at a rate of approximately 50 cm2 /sec. The thickest rust can be removed at a rate of 5 cm2/sec.
