The water inside the laser condenses into ice when the volume will become larger, which will cause blockage of the pipeline, laser water cooling plate cracking, QBH fixed parts and crystal cracking and laser water pipeline water pipe, water pipe joints cracked and caused by damage to the device or leakage of short-circuit damage to fiber lasers and other laser equipment components and a series of problems, the seriousness of which will also lead to laser scrapped and can not be repaired, which affects the shutdown of production and cause great losses to the customer. Cause huge losses to customers. The following are some of the damage caused by the laser without timely anti-freezing treatment:

The damage caused by freezing is not covered by the laser warranty. This shows the importance of frost protection for lasers and laser equipment in the harsh winter.
There are three kinds of anti-freezing measures for lasers: adding antifreeze; draining the water inside the laser and the output head; and keeping the water cooler on all the time (not recommended). According to different practical situations and the principle of economic applicability, the following Jabil laser gives you a detailed explanation of the following two operations:
When the temperature is below 0°C, and the laser equipment is not used for a long time or need to be transported by courier is necessary to empty the water inside the laser and laser equipment to prevent freezing. Specific as follows:
01. Remove the water pipe behind the laser and open the ball valve to let the water inside the laser flow out.
02. Use 0.5MPA (5kg) clean compressed air or nitrogen to blow into the main circuit water outlet. Blow for 3 minutes and stop for 1 minute. Repeat the process for 4-5 times and observe the change of water mist at the drain port, no water mist at the drain port means that the drainage step is completed. Finally, close the ball valve of the laser and seal the water pipe joints with plugs or tapes to prevent dust from falling.
03. Pull out the Φ6 inlet and outlet pipes of the QBH output head from the machine.
04. Blow 0.2MPA (2kg) clean compressed air or nitrogen into one Φ6 thin water pipe, with the other Φ6 thin water pipe facing downward, until there is no water mist in the pipe facing downward. Next, use tape to seal the inlet and outlet pipes. During this operation, care should be taken to prevent water from dripping onto the laser head and other wiring.
When the temperature is below 0°C and the laser equipment needs to be used normally, at this time we need to set the low-temperature water of the water cooler to 24-26°C and the high-temperature water to 26-28°C, and add different ratios of antifreeze in the cooling water. Recommend the use of regular U.S. Clariant antifreeze, poor or poor quality antifreeze will not only fail to play a role in antifreeze at the same time will also corrode the laser internal water piping. Antifreeze adding ratio can refer to the following table, the specific can be combined with the actual situation of the proportion;
Add antifreeze operation as follows.
- Turn off the water cooler, disconnect the water cooler, open the drain valve to drain the water.
- Pour antifreeze and clean cooling water into the same container according to the proportions in the table.
- Stir the two solutions in the container well, please pour the antifreeze into the water cooler after mixing the antifreeze proportionally in other containers, do not fill the antifreeze directly into the water cooler.
- Fill the stirred solution into the tank of the water cooler, turn on the power and let the water circulate until the liquid level reaches the requirement.
Caution:
After the weather warms up and the temperature stabilizes above 0°C, please empty the antifreeze in time and use clean cooling water to circulate for cleaning.
