In September 2026, Raycus Laser, a leading domestic laser enterprise, officially announced that its self-developed 30kW ultra-high-power continuous fiber laser has achieved large-scale mass production and has been delivered to customers in batches. This marks the first time in China that ultra-high-power fiber lasers above 10kW have reached mass production scale, signifying that domestic ultra-high-power lasers have fully reached international leading levels in core components, beam quality, and long-term stability.
The 30kW laser adopts Raycus Laser's self-developed high-brightness pump sources and specialty fiber technology, achieving a beam quality of M²<1.3 and an electro-optical conversion efficiency exceeding 45%. In practical industrial cutting applications, compared to traditional 12kW equipment, it increases the cutting speed for thick carbon steel and stainless steel plates (above 30mm) by more than 40%, producing smooth, slag-free cuts, while reducing unit cutting energy consumption by approximately 25%. For heavy equipment sectors such as shipbuilding, construction machinery, and pressure vessels, this efficiency gain translates into significantly shorter production cycles and lower operating costs.
Furthermore, the laser is equipped with multiple back-reflection protection systems and intelligent power adjustment mechanisms, effectively resisting the intense back-reflected light generated during thick-plate cutting, ensuring long-term stable operation under harsh working conditions. Currently, this series of lasers has completed production line validation at several major domestic heavy industry enterprises and is gradually being exported to overseas markets including Europe and Southeast Asia.
As the cost of domestic ultra-high-power lasers continues to decline, the global thick-plate laser processing market is accelerating its transition from plasma cutting and flame cutting to ultra-high-power laser cutting. Raycus Laser stated that it will continue to push toward 50kW and even higher power levels in the future, further solidifying China's leading position in the global ultra-high-power laser field.
