Coherent Launches ExactWeld 410 Laser Welding System For Medical Device Manufacturing

The growing importance of medical devices in improving the quality and longevity of patients' lives is driving a rapidly growing demand for high-quality, high-reliability precision welding in medical device manufacturing.
To meet this demand, the U.S. precision manufacturing industrial laser manufacturer Coherent (Coherent) recently launched the ExactWeld 410 laser welding system, designed for medical device manufacturing. The system delivers superior performance to meet the most demanding medical device precision welding requirements.
Built for cost optimization, the compact size of the ExactWeld 410 system makes it suitable for a variety of large production lines. It supports a wide range of applications and production needs and provides process quality traceability to ensure product consistency and reliability.
The ExactWeld 410 is an innovative micro-welding system built on our new cost-optimized fiber laser technology, PowerLine FL, which we introduced in June," said Simon Reiser, senior vice president and general manager of the Laser Systems and Tools business unit. The system facilitates customer reconfiguration for the production of a wide range of medical devices, minimizing downtime and supporting it as a long-term investment solution."
The ExactWeld 410 simplifies process validation and increases productivity with the latest laser frame software. Its intuitive interface, machine vision and process monitoring capabilities further enhance the system's ease of use and reliability. In addition, by being equipped with SmartSense+, the system is able to validate, monitor and document the performance of the production process.
Traceability, a requirement for FDA-certified (ISO 13485) production lines, eliminates manual errors and improves manufacturing efficiency by storing process records in the cloud.
In addition to precision welding, Coherent offers a full line of laser cutting and marking systems for the medical manufacturing industry, including the StarCut Tube, ExactCut and ExactMark systems.
