On 17 November, the China Laser Science and Technology Innovation Industry Conference was successfully held in Mianyang as one of the important special events of the 10th Science Fair.
It is understood that this conference is a joint effort of the United Nations and the well-known photonics industry media and industry alliance associations in Youxian District, Mianyang City. A number of leading figures in the laser industry and renowned experts gathered in Mianyang with the theme of "Technology Mianyang, Light Leads to the Future" to discuss the development of the laser industry, the synergy of the laser industry in the east and west and other cutting-edge topics for a deep-level collision of views and to jointly explore the road of development of the laser industry in the west. The event will be the first of its kind in China to establish a new banner for China's laser technology and innovation industry, and to inject new momentum into the investment and development of the local laser industry.
At the conference, the "Photonic Technology Research Institute of Mianyang Science and Technology City" was officially inaugurated and Chen Huabin, Secretary of the Party Committee of Youxian District, Mianyang City, introduced the laser industry and released the incubation programme.
Representatives of many laser companies formally signed project cooperation agreements with Han Xiaoqing, Deputy Secretary of the Youxian District Committee and Mayor of the District People's Government, building a new platform for cooperation in the laser industry.
According to a report by the Sadie Research Institute, from the perspective of the intensity of investment in R&D, Mianyang's R&D expenditure reached 7.15% of GDP, and the intensity of R&D investment was the first in the country.
