The Application of Laser Cleaning Machine in The Maintenance of Rolling Stock

The problem of serious corrosion of aluminum alloy axle box body often occurs in the maintenance of rolling stock, laser cleaning can effectively remove the corrosion of aluminum alloy axle box body, and at the same time will have some improvement on its mechanical properties.
Researchers use 100W laser cleaning machine on aluminum alloy axle box parts corrosion part of laser cleaning research. Laser parameters: power of 100w, repetition frequency of 70kHz, scanning width of 20mm, scanning frequency of 260Hz. experiments show that the laser cleaning can make the oxygen element content reduced to 1/3 of the pre-cleaning, effectively remove the rust layer on the surface of the aluminum alloy shaft case.
The experiment measured the damage degree of single cleaning on the substrate, the thickness of substrate loss is about 17.5um, which is negligible, and the substrate loss will become smaller when the number of cleaning increases. The surface roughness was experimentally measured and found to be almost unchanged. The microstructure of aluminum alloy surface after laser cleaning was observed by metallurgical microscope, and a hardened layer that can slightly improve the surface hardness was observed on the surface.
The experiments also measured the tensile strength, bending properties and other mechanical properties of the aluminum alloy after laser cleaning, and found that the tensile and bending strength of the aluminum alloy axle housing substrate after laser cleaning were slightly increased. The experiments show that laser cleaning can effectively remove the corrosion of aluminum alloy axle housing parts of the rolling stock and can improve the material properties.
