Wavelength Division Multiplexer (WDM) is a technology that combines the optical signals of different wavelengths at the sending end through the multiplexer and is coupled to the same optical fiber of the optical circuit for transmission. At the receiving end, the optical signals of different wavelengths are separated by a demultiplexer, and then further processed by the optical receiver to recover the original signal. In the same optical fiber, two or more optical wavelength signals simultaneously transmit information through different optical channels, which is called optical wavelength division multiplexing technology. Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) can increase optical fiber transmission capacity, signal transmission is transparent, and capacity expansion is simple and low cost.
