After more than half a century of development, laser technology has gradually matured from basic theory, experimental means to manufacturing process, especially in military applications, which have changed the world. Military use is very widely used in the field of laser communication, laser radar, laser guidance, laser reconnaissance, laser alarm, etc., is well applied to China's national defense field, accelerating the realization of China's strong military strategy.

LIDAR is a radar system that detects the position, speed and other characteristic quantities of a target by emitting a laser beam. The detection signal (laser beam) is emitted to the target, and the received signal reflected back from the target is compared with the emitted signal, so as to detect, track and identify targets such as airplanes and missiles.

A laser weapon is a directed-energy weapon that uses a directionally emitted laser beam to directly destroy or disable a target. The lasers usually used are chemical lasers, solid-state lasers, CO lasers, etc.

Laser guidance is a laser technology used to control the flight direction of the vehicle, or to guide the weapon to hit the target. It has the advantages of simple structure, low cost of combat effectiveness, good anti-jamming performance and high hit accuracy.

Laser communication is a kind of communication mode that uses laser as a carrier to transmit information. Laser communication has the advantages of large information capacity, multiple transmission paths, good directionality, energy concentration, good confidentiality, lightweight equipment, cost and economy compared with electric wave communication.

Laser alarm is a technology used to intercept, measure and recognize the enemy laser threat signal and real-time alarm. When the laser beam irradiates the receiving system, the receiving system converges the laser onto the photoelectric sensor, and after signal conversion and analysis and processing, an alarm signal is issued.

Laser detection utilizes laser technology for multispectral photography (holography), which can identify camouflaged targets.
